Thrilling Conclusion As 2025 MotoAmerica Champion Crowned!
The 2025 R&G-sponsored MotoAmerica Championship will be one for the history books, with the Champion being crowned in the final race of the season.
Here at R&G, we have been involved in the series for a long time, and 2025 marked our biggest year yet as we became the Official Protection Supplier to the Championship. We were also the chosen crash protection supplier for several teams and riders, including the Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki squad, Rahal Ducati Moto, CW Moto Racing and Nolan Lamkin. We were also back with the Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race series and supplied protection to all Krämer bikes competing in the brand new Parts Unlimited Talent Cup by Motul, which means it’s been a very busy season for us!
The Superbike class was an intense battle throughout the nine-round Championship, as Cameron Beaubier, Josh Herrin and Bobby Fong fought for the series lead. It was Beaubier who held the early-season lead after wins at Barber Motorsports Park and Road Atlanta; however, a run of four consecutive wins from Herrin, coupled with a couple of challenging rounds for Beaubier, tightened the title race.
Things became even more interesting when Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing’s Bobby Fong claimed five wins on the bounce, followed by multiple podiums to take the series lead going into the final round, with Beubier eight points behind and Herrin a further 14 back. An opening race win from Fong saw him put one hand on the trophy with just two races on Sunday remaining, but drama was about to unfold…
As race two got underway on Sunday, Fong, Beaubier and Herrin were fighting for victory on the last lap before disaster struck for the series leader, crashing out of contention, leaving Herrin to take the win and Beaubier second. Fong’s early finish promoted the R&G-protected Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki of Richie Escalante onto the podium - his third of the season.
Coming down to the final race of the season, Beaubier now held a slim lead over Fong, and as the duo traded places at the front, the Yamaha rider again crashed out, leaving Beaubier to claim his sixth MotoAmerica title.
It was equally as competitive in the Supersport Championship, as the R&G-protected Rahal Ducati of PJ Jacobsen and Strack Racing’s Mathew Scholtz battled throughout the season. Coming into the final round, PJ was some 21 points off the series lead, but his challenge was cut short when tyre issues forced him out of the opening race.
It’s safe to say 2025 was an incredible MotoAmerica season for fans trackside and those of us watching from home – and we can’t wait to see what next year has in store! Before then, though, there’s just the small matter of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship to wrap up, and if you’re heading to the final round Brands Hatch, make sure you stop by the R&G Technical Centre, in the heart of the paddock, to check out our latest crash protection products and meet the team.
