We’re heading back to Thruxton next weekend, our ‘home’ circuit, which is just a few miles away from our HQ, for some adrenaline-fuelled BSB action. It’s going to be a big weekend, and we’re excited to welcome our ambassadors, R6.Jessie and Tiptoebikers, who’ll be taking over our socials, as well as LambChopRides, who’ll be joining us for the weekend.
As one of the fastest circuits on the calendar, it creates some of the best racing of the season as slipstreaming battles mean the action almost always comes down to the final lap… and as usual, our team will be on hand throughout the weekend at the R&G Technical Centre. This has become a vital part of the paddock, providing essential crash protection and racing accessories to teams and riders across every class, as well as serving the thousands of bikers who come to watch, allowing them to see our range of products and ensure their bike is protected.
Of course, while all eyes will be on the Superbike class, make sure you catch the many support races, which offer some of the most exciting racing of all. We have always been proud to support the next generation of riders, whether that’s being the official crash protection supplier to the BMW F 900 R Cup or the title sponsor to R&G British Talent Cup, our products can be found on bikes throughout the paddock!
Originally built in 1940 as RAF Thruxton, a World War II airfield and home to both the RAF and USAF, the site was used for troop-carrying aircraft and gliders during the D-Day landings. In 1946 it was decommissioned and from 1950 it was used for motorsport. Motorcycling was the first sport to be staged there, with four-wheeled racing commencing from 1952. Thruxton is one of the fastest circuits on the British Superbike Championship calendar and one which has hosted events as varied as World Endurance motorcycles, European F2 cars and trucks. The demands of the circuit range from the long, fast straights and flowing corners to tight, demanding Complex and Chicane sections.
