1000S FULLY FAIRED CRASH PROTECTORS (CODE CP0163)

note that in cases where kits are packed with rubber washers holding the
components onto the bolt – the rubber washers should be thrown away!

panel on right hand side of bike

from the top of engine mounting bracket
-
Remove bolt from bottom

-
Take the R&G aluminium
block with the two cut-outs and mount to bike using the m10x1.5x110
cap head bolt * and one of the short, m8 cap head bolts (reuse the
original nut). * Make sure you use the longer of the two cap head
bolts (110mm excluding head). Use supplied washers behind the head
of the bolts.

(shorter) hex head bolt and slide washer up to head of bolt

the R&G block and tighten
·
Tighten bolt
until you feel some compression from inside the protector. Turn a
little more so that you feel the compression increase slightly. Then
apply a quarter turn. Do not overtighten as damage can occur to the
bike. Do not exceed 40nm of torque.
-
Repeat this procedure
for the left side, using the other block, the shorter cap head bolt
(100mm excluding head), one of the 50mm cap head bolts and using the
longer (m10x100mm) hex head bolt through the other protector.
Due to the risk of
cross-threading of bolts etc; we always recommend that our products be
fitted by one of our official dealers or a qualified mechanic.
